The Cancer woman is essentially a very feminine character, often unconsciously seductive in her mannerisms. On occasion, she will consider relinquishing a rather passionate romance in favor of a more stable and conventional relationship.
As a sweetheart, she is prone to be rather clinging and likes to "mother" her partner when given the chance. Still, she usually appreciates being told not to fuss overly-much since if she feels she is being taken advantage of, she will accuse her partner of being lazy, selfish and/or degenerate. Nonetheless, this woman does like to be dominated and is happy not to win every argument or come out on top all the time.
As a life partner, she should be allowed to go her own way in every small matter and given instruction...or even bossed...on the larger matters. The female ruled by Cancer is capable of providing an attractive and artistic home, but will not necessarily want to stay there all the time. As a mother, she is neither dominating nor demanding. Indeed, she often neglects to understand the nuances of her children's differing characteristics. In addition, her patience with offspring is not always reliable since there is a tendency here to be temperamental. The Cancer female is usually best with small children...babies and toddlers...but is apt to resent the increasing independence shown by older children. In short, she is likely to be impatient of what she considers to be their strange adolescent ways.
At her best, this female is sympathetic, affectionate and protective...to say nothing of being devoted and adaptable. Her presence is generally sanctifying and she understands how to serve. In return for her devotion, the Cancer woman is undoubtedly loved and respected. Still, she can often be a moody, changeable and ignorant soul...one who is unwilling to be improved.
In addition, she can be temperamental to a fault and sensitive in the extreme. She oftentimes seeks protection and will need the help and guidance of a partner to provide the strength with which to meet life's problems. Any partner will almost certainly be placed upon a pedestal in this female's imagination and if that partner should fail, the spiritual shock may well prove to be crushing.
This is a passionately possessive woman and everything concerning the life of her family will be all-absorbing. On occasion, the intuitive and instinctive female ruled by Cancer does possess an uncannily accurate business sense and is able to furnish advice in that regard with unexpected wisdom. Still, taken in a general sense, the whole character here is essentially feminine with all that such implies.
